Just a quick email today! We know that many of you are starting to think about your professional development schedule for the coming year.

If you haven't had the chance to watch this free recording, we highly recommend it. Tammy Oesting speaks to Daneen Goncalves of Nido Marketing about how and why to create a professional development plan for your staff. You'll find some excellent suggestions to take into consideration as you make your plan.

Tools

You may also want to take a look at this resource from the Journal of Montessori Research: Designing the Montessori Coaching Tool Elementary Rubric for Early-Career Professional Development. This is a self-reflection tool for early career teachers and also provides a framework for conversation between a teacher and a mentor. It is based on Montessori and related expert writings and addresses the many components of elementary teaching practice. You can download the PDF here.

We also recommend the Montessori Assessment Playbook developed by the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector. It features 33 tools, including rubrics, appraisal instruments, and transition checklists, to enhance reflective practice and promote a thriving learning environment.

Mentoring

Next week we will be sharing some information about the Greenspring Center for Lifelong Learning and their year-long mentoring communities. If you have been looking for mentors for your staff, this is a resource worth considering. https://greenspringcenter.org/mentoring/ Use the code TRILLIUMMENTORING to save $250 on your final balance. (Application fee required.)

My brain is recovering very well but isn't fully braining yet and email is one of those things that I don't challenge it to do yet. I lean heavily on the inbox...

a very large cluster of stars in the sky

Hello Friends, Last week I mentioned the parable of the choir. This week I have another story for you. I apologize for how long it turned out, but I hope you will read it. And when that bus stopped, every car in both directions stopped with it. I didn’t know the rule. But I understood the meaning instantly and it overwhelmed me: these people...
